Alliance Française Omaha has partnered with independent group Café et Conversation Midwest to bring Omaha and the Midwest’s francophones a French conversation event every week of the year!
C&C is a casual weekly meetup to practice/speak French. Whether you are a beginner, native speaker, or somewhere in between, C&C is the group for you! C&C meets at various locations in the Omaha area as well as Lincoln and Sioux City. Events are free to attend and all are welcome.
AFO will share C&C’s events on our website event calendar, but we also encourage you to join the C&C community via their email list, private Facebook group and website below.
OÙ ET QUAND?
We'll be meeting at 4:00pm on Friday, March 27th at the Sheldon Art Museum in Lincoln for a guided tour (in English) highlighting just a couple French/Francophone pieces. The tour will last about an hour. After the tour, we will make our way over to Bison Witches for drinks and a bit to eat. Please RSVP to both events at esparken@gmail.com so Sara can let Sheldon know how many to expect. We currently have a table for 15 people at Bison Witches and can update as necessary.
There is ongoing construction in front of the Lied Center which is limiting public parking near the museum. Please see the map on this page for Sheldon Parking. Parking here is free, but they will need to enter us into the parking system, so everyone will be asked for their license plate number upon arrival. I do not know if we will be allowed to stay parked here to go to Bison Witches after.
When you arrive, look for C&C Lincoln organizer Sara Parkening. All levels of French proficiency welcome!
