THE ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE
Founded in Paris in 1883, The Alliance Française is the largest network of French language and cultural institutions in the world, with chapters in 138 countries, including 115 chapters in the United States. The Omaha chapter began in 1917 and we celebrated our centennial in 2017.
Établi à Paris en 1883, l'Alliance Française est la plus grande organization du monde à représenter la langue et les institutions culturelles françaises. Ses filiales sont présentes dans 138 pays, y compris 115 aux États-Unis. La filiale d'Omaha a été fondé en 1917, et nous avons fêté notre centenaire en 2017.

“It’s hard to imagine, but over 100 years ago a group of people here in Omaha decided to set up a chapter of an international French association. Even more amazing, our chapter is still thriving today, connecting our members with the various cultures of the French-speaking world.
Become a member. Meet up with other people who have an eye toward the francophone world and who happen to live in the Omaha area.
Not ready to become a member? Sign up for our email newsletters or like us on Facebook or Instagram to hear about our public events. Take a French language class. Attend a French film in October or a French wine tasting in November. Bring family and friends to our Bastille Day celebration in July.
