DESCRIPTION: In this three-week course, we will read and discuss the novel Le Fantôme de l'Opéra, by Gaston Leroux. This text has been adapted for Français Langue Étrangère (FLE) students at the A2 level (Diplôme d’études en langue française, DELF; Totem 2 level at AFO). Instruction will be primarily in French, with occasional clarifications offered in English, if necessary. We will discuss Chapters 1-3 (along with some contextual content from the book) at our first class on July 14. Students will need to order their manuals in time to complete this reading assignment prior to that date! Currently, most sellers list delivery dates approximately three weeks from time of purchase, so please plan accordingly. An optional audio version is also available if students wish to listen alongside their reading: https://lff.hachettefle.fr/le-fantome-de-l-opera__fr.html. This workshop is taught in the same way as the Salon classes, so it also offers students the opportunity to see if they are ready for a Salon class. Maximum 10 students.
