








Allons au ciné ! - in Person
DESCRIPTION: This in-person class is designed for intermediate/advanced students. It will be conducted primarily in French, though there will be occasional short videos, one or two readings, and a PowerPoint in English. Students will form opinions and discuss them with others in the classroom. A primary goal of the course is to enhance students’ understanding of Francophone culture (social, economic, political issues). Dr. Patrice Proulx specializes in contemporary French and francophone culture, literature, and film. She grew up in a bilingual family in Northern Maine with origins in Quebec and New Brunswick. She spent one year as a Rotary Scholar in Montpellier, France, and later lived in Paris for two years while writing her doctoral dissertation (Cornell University). Dr. Proulx also directs a study-abroad program in Québec every summer. Maximum 10 students.
