The Alliance Française d'Omaha is proud to share these articles from one of our distinguished members. Nebraska has a strong French connection and these works explore that influence. Please enjoy our fascinating history by downloading the articles below.
About the author:
Orville D. Menard, Ph.D was a Political Science professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha for 34 years. Among the many honors and awards he attained, Orv (as he was known to his friends) was given the Chancellor’s Medal, 1988, UNO’s highest honor, which is awarded to those whose service has brought distinction to the University Community in all its dimensions. Orville passed away in 2014 at the age of 80.
With his wife Darlene, Orv was a long-time member of the Alliance Française d’Omaha (AFO). This article appeared for years on the AFO website. As our Alliance celebrates its Centennial in 2017, we once again highlight the great Nebraska-French connection for all to read.
