Please join us for a luncheon on Saturday, January 26th, at 11:30 a.m., to honor this year’s scholarship recipients at the Field Club, 3615 Woolworth Avenue. Each year a select group of high school students are awarded $500 to further their language studies at the college level.
Our honored speaker will be Franck Tucker Ebang, who will speak on the following topic:
The French Language and Cross-Cultural Communication across Africa
In his presentation, Mr. Ebang will show how the French language became a catalyst for greater intercultural exchanges and integration in Francophone Africa. He will shed light on the different variances of spoken French in parts of these African countries and how the various cultures influence the way French is spoken in those countries.

ABOUT FRANCK TUCKER EBANG
Two-times published author, Franck Tucker Ebang is originally from Gabon (West Central Africa). He is a public speaker, linguist and Pan-Africanist. Franck has a background in International Relations with a focus in African Studies from American Public Universities (APUS) out of Charles Town, West Virginia and he is a certified professional translator from the Portland Global Translation Institute. Franck is a member of the Nebraska Translation and Interpreter Association.
Currently residing in Omaha, Nebraska, Franck manages Dream On International, LLC, a consulting business that facilitates admission process for prospective international students to colleges and universities across North America. He is the programming chair of the Leadership Africa Summit, a yearly held summit that brings together round African leaders and professionals to Omaha to partake in leadership workshops and community empowerment programs.
Franck is an active member of the Alliance Française d’Omaha.
ABOUT THE LUNCHEON
The cost for the luncheon is $25 for members, $35 for non-members and $15 for students.
The meal will be a buffet which includes:
Chicken with Lemon Dill Cream Sauce (poulet à la crème d’aneth au citron)
London Broil with Roasted Shallot Glaze (gril de Londres avec glaçage d’échalote)
Salmon Filet with Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette (filet de saumon avec vinaigrette à la coriandre et au citron vert
