“George Dinsdale” CONCOURS DE CUISINE

As we continue to celebrate our Centennial, we're delighted to bring to light some of the great history of the Alliance Française d'Omaha. 

In that tradition, we are having a true Cordon Bleu “cook-off” to honor George Dinsdale, AFO president from 1958-1959, who was a world traveller and passionate chef.  He was a graduate of the Cordon Bleu school in Paris, and when he returned to Omaha he shared his culinary skills by giving cooking lessons and creating sumptuous dinners for Alliance events. 

Schedule of Events:

11:30 — Arrival, Drinks, Light Hors d'ourvres, Mingle, Get your Raffle Tickets!

12:00 — Judges’ Tasting

12:30 — Lunch is served

 1:30  — Winners announced: Concours Prizes and Raffle Drawing

HOW TO ENTER:

1. Prepare a Main Dish or a Dessert from any gourmet French recipe, but serves a minimum of 8 people.  (If you want to use a Cordon Bleu cookbook or online source for an example, click here.)

2. Bring a copy of your recipe to share.  

RSVP INFORMATION:

Cost: $15 per person— except those entering the cook-off.
• No fee if you are bringing a dish to be judged (see “how to enter” above).
• Note: no other food is needed. We will feast on the main dishes and desserts, and AFO will furnish light hors d’oeuvres, French bread, water, wine, coffee, paper goods, and prizes!
